injuries...it's a summer thing

I have never broken a mirror, but apparently in the summer of 1998, my luck when bad. That summer I slipped on a coral reef and needed 4 stitches on the cruise ship in Bermuda. The next summer I broke my wrist. Since them it seems that summer is my time for injuries. Yesterday Trac, Joe, Elliot, and I have a great day at the Jersey shore. It was an 80 degree day, there was a slight breeze, and the water was so refreshing. I had just laughed when this girl by got scratched by running into a chair (I know I have sick sense of humor) and a bamboo wooden piece sticking out of the sand rammed in to my foot. Hey at least we had a full day at the beach right and I got taken off the beach by two really hot lifeguards! I went off the beach Baywatch style :) With it being Saturday afternoon and Labor Day weekend there were no doctors or clinics open so we had to go to a non-emergency almost ER like place. We joked around but really I was in a lot of pain. I never got to the arcades but I did get a fine slice of Jersey pizza (thanks to Tracy's BF and his friend) . So four hours later, multiple shots of lidocaine, a tetanus shot, and picking at my foot with a tweezer, I'm happy to report the "foreign body" that was inside my foot is out :). It was a good chance to chat and catch up with my friend. It really could have been worse (I haven't got the bill yet, then I'll be crying). We felt the need to document this event of course keeping my blog in mind for pics. I save the wooden piece and plan to frame it.
