Every year us Tamponians (or whatever you wanna call us!) look forward to the Gasparilla Festival on Bayshore. For more info visit http://www.gasparillapiratefest.com/. I guess you can call this a mini Mardi Gras. Huge crowds of people (some in costumes) out in the streets celebrating, partying, and watching the pirate pirade, and getting beads thrown at you. This year Parker and I took the bus to the festivities and met up with a bunch of our friends from yad on Davis Island overlooking the water. Hundreds of boats were involved in the invasion. After that we headed to the parade route to watch the floats.
