Playing Switcheroo

I forgot to mention...I got some new floor assignments at work which was not my choice but rather done out of convenience. One of my floors is moving to another wing because they needed more medical beds and I am not moving with them. Instead, Orthopedics is moving to my floor. Since it's a smaller ward, I am taking on the observation unit. This is mainly reserved for patients who are here with minor symptom ie. chest pain, high blood pressure, things that only require some tests and usually they discharge within 48 hrs. I'm looking forward to this change because I had a lot of issues with the other floor. My manager kept asking me do you want another floor, but I said "no" thinking I'd work through it and things would improve. No matter how many times I brought things up with the nurse manager, there was not much improvement. That floor was very set in their ways. I will miss some of the RNs who I worked really well with but look forward to a new batch of people and also relieve myself of some of the patients who have been there way too long. We have one patient on that wing for over a year. About time someone else took care of them...alright good night
