Nature in all its glory

This weekend I took a drive to Honeymoon Island State Park. I figured I'd take advantage of the 90 degree weather since we are well into fall already. I'm sure it'll get "colder" soon. They have a beach and various nature trails throughout the island. It's a really beautiful place...very popular spot for weddings because of the beautiful landscape. I went solely for the purpose of photographing. They had signs all along the trails of possible animals to see...raccoons (well I hope not in broad day light), owls, squirrels, tortoises, and rattlesnakes. Geez I prayed I wouldn't see one of those. And of course with that idea planted in my head that I may see one, I got startled by the littlest rustle in the bushes. I did stumble upon a few tortoises. Nature is so fascinating!!

this guy meant business...

birds nest...not sure what species

problem the most harmless thing I saw
i hate these almost as much as canadian geese but they make for a good pic
