I surprisingly got many wishes for a happy
Chanukah at work. No offense to
Lakeland, but it's not exactly the most Jewish place to live. I'm
surprised I haven't been asked where my horns are. So any way, my coworker ( who mind you grew up near Miami) asked me if this holiday required fasting too and what was I not allowed to do. Why does everyone think all our holidays involve fasting? Man they must really think we have no fun. Why don't they know anything about
Chanukah? Every Jew I know knows what Christmas signifies, why don't they know more about
Chanukah? Aren't we as Americans supposed to be culturally aware? So the next time this happens to you, invite your non-Jewish coworker or friend over for some
latkes and candle lighting or maybe even a
Chanukah party. Let's show them how us Jews party and how we celebrate this Festival of Lights:)
Enough of that... onto the good stuff. I packed in a lot of
Chanukah parties this weekend from Kim's Game Night and Potluck to Danielle's after 5 Black and White Party to
Chabad's candle lighting at the mall to my rabbi friend Joel's massive
Chanukah party. Good thing I had off today to
recooperate and make more
latkes for work parties this week. I managed to use 10 lbs of potatoes this weekend!! It was not an easy task. Here are some pics from this weekend. Happy
Chanukah to everyone and I hope you have gotten your fair share of
latkes, may some nice presents, and most important are having fun. Best wishes.
Happy Chanukah from Tampa, FL
