On January 19th, Mitch turned the big 3-0. For weeks he had tried to get me to tell him what I got him for his birthday. I, being a very good keeper of surprises, would not waiver. On his birthday, I gave him a nice new leather jacket to replace his ratty real old hand me down leather jacket. He was very surprised since he asked me flat out if I got it for him and I look at him without a smile or reaction and said no. I also got him a fedora since he always comments that he wants to get more (he already has one) We went out to his favorite local Mexican restaurant. That weekend we had a party with Seth, Gabby, Jeff, and Paula. Jeff and Paula gave Mitch some Canadian wine. Yes, apparently make wine in Canada, just don't ask me where they grow the grapes. I'm not a big fan of reds so don't ask me if it tastes good or not. My answer will always be no. We also had cake from Cold Stone Creamery- we all loved it, but why wouldn't you. I think Mitch had a great birthday.
I made broiled salmon, garlic couscous, and sauteed asparagus that Friday for Shabbat
