The day after the first day of spring, we were greeted with a snow storm. Until then we had maybe 4-6" at max for one storm. However this one, apparently by Edmonton standards, was not normal. We got snow three days straight and by the time all was said and done, I think there was close to a 1 1/2 feet maybe more. I have never seen it snow for three days straight. It was pretty relentless. On days like these, I take the bus to catch the train to school and we just stay at home and read, relax, and sit by the fire when we don't have to go into work. Nothing shuts down, they handle snow up here like pros. I guess they have to or else this town would not function. We are expecting a snow storm this weekend (up to 20cm) so I am planning to get some stuff so I can practice my cake decorating because I doubt we'll go anywhere. We are both very tired of winter, it's been way too long. I've been told this has been a long winter but I think people's memories are poor when it comes to weather. We forget very quickly. They were talking on the radio yesterday about seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and how light lamps work but I don't think they apply here. It already is getting dark by 9pm. It's not the lack of sunshine because we have plenty but it's the cold cold weather and this above average accumulation of snow we've gotten this season. If it doesn't get better soon at least we're going to California soon. It should be nice there. We also took a video for our friends and family; we got our neighbors in there too.
