Let the festivities begin

My thoughts on birthdays...I'm okay with turning 26 this year. I know I am one year closer to thirty, but isn't 50 the new 40 so that means 30 is the new 20 so it's okay. I mean heck I don't look my age anyway and strangers seem to like to tell me this weekly. It usually happens at work...I'm standing in the elevator with my lab coat on so they think...oh this lady must be a doctor. But they look again and think but wait she looks too young. Then I get this puzzled sorta look while I get scanned from head to foot. They it comes out..."how old are you?" I like games so I ask, "well how old to you think I am?" I get 18..20..21...they think I'm a volunteer in high school. High school?? Really now, at least give me 20!! So maybe 26 will be the year I start to look my age...

This year I'm doing my birthday right...it's on a Monday so I figure why not make it a 4 day weekend celebration. I've been celebrating since Friday. It's hard to go out to dinner on a Monday night, so Parker and I went to the Cheesecake Factory on Friday. Dinner was so delicious and we shared turtle cheesecake. Oh my goodness! They even sang Happy Birthday. It was great. Yesterday we went to Splittsville with a few friends. We had a great time. I forgot that I'm a lightweight when it comes to drinking. Woops! Today we're going to dinner at Byblos, a awesome Mediterranean place with our friends. And the actual bday tomorrow I'm getting my free coldstone ice cream with Parker in between his softball game.

I have to say with the warm weather (expect today because it's 62 for the high), it doesn't feel like my birthday. I feel as if I'm stuck in a time warp and it's permanently some spring month. It isn't as humid as summer but definately not cold. I associated my birthday with cold. And the leaves, they barely are falling. I guess I just have to get used to it.

6 days until vacation home and SNL. I've already starting packing. I mean it's not like I'm going to wear a sweater anytime soon, right?! Haha. Well here are some pics from the festivities.
