Maryland area Bucket List: Arlington National Cemetary

Arlington National Cemetery has been on my Maryland area bucket list for quite some time now. I decided to go there before I visited with cousins Jason and Marissa in nearby Annandale, VA. I spent about a little over three hours walking the grounds. I had no idea the cemetery was that large, but in retrospect how can it be small if soldiers have been buried there since the Civil War. I visited many of the notables but also just your everyday men and women. They had a special woman's exhibit which was interesting.  I also stumbled upon a memorial ceremony a family was having for their loved one.  I quietly stood from a far and observed the ceremony.  I still can't quite figure out how they fold the flag but it took pretty long to do so.  After going to Arlington, I met up with Marissa, Jason, and their newest edition Michael Noah who is 10 weeks.  Michael was born early and is still kind of tiny so I didn't want to take any pictures to startle him.  It was was great visit and a nice chance to see them before I left town.  The two hour drive home which should have only taken a little over an hour was not so fun  :(

Pop Pop was a Sea bee, he talked about his tour in Okinawa and Fiji.  I took this for him.
