Busy Fall

We've been busy little bees this fall.  We both ran a 10K race on October 27 through the University's Diabetes Institute.   It was pretty chilly as you can see by how we're dressed.  I'm still running outside as much as I can.  I invested in some hardcore warm running attire as well as two pairs of gloves.  I have a running buddy from my lab so it keeps me motivated.  When I don't run outside I run at the YMCA.  In more exciting news, we bought a house. We take possession January 15 which means we're in serious packing mode now.  I found the house and we absolutely fell in love with it.  Plenty of kitchen space, modern, close to down town, fireplace, and front garage.  You see some pictures of the outside, living room, kitchen, and top floor.  Plenty of space (hint, hint- summer visit or skiing getaway)!!

This weekend we celebrated my 31st birthday with a wonderful winter wonderland snow storm.  On November 16, it snowed all day and brought about a foot of snow.  I had a birthday get together that night (most people were able to make it despite the weather).  I was pleasantly surprised given the road conditions but luckily we have a decent transit system and the plowing crews work really hard, and most people lived fairly close.  Even yesterday we were back to near normal on most major roads.  It was so nice to get cards, calls, videos, emails, e-greetings, and FB messages.   This was the one of the best birthdays.  Mitch and I went out to dinner last night and this weekend he's taking me on a surprise weekend getaway.  The only thing I know (which he slipped yesterday) is that he's taking to a B&B. I guess I'll just have to wait and see! The last fews pics are of the storm- me sporting my new heavy heavy jacket as well as the snowshoe hare I spotted last night out the front window.  They are my favorite thing about this weather.  Enjoy the pics and think warm thoughts.
