The Grand Canyon In All Its Splendor

Day 5... Sedona and Flagstaff were fun but it was time to leave for our 1 1/2 hour ride to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. We spent about 11 hrs in the park hiking, walking, taking pictures, and shopping. My advice is if you haven't gone to see the canyon... you have to go...it's absolutely beautiful and a lot of fun to hike. It does get a little frightening at times being so high up, but eventually, that just wears off. We hiked the rim trails and down the Bright Angel trail which is 12 miles down all the way to the bottom and 12 miles up. Done in it's entirety, it takes usually 2 days. The trail is pretty hard on the knees downhill and all uphill going up. We opted to hike 1 1/2 miles down to the first water and rest station and 1 1/2 miles up. We still descended about 2,000 ft and it took us a good 2-3 hrs. At 7:15 we watched the sun set over the canyon from Hopi Point... I believe I took over 100 pics, so here are just a few.
1st picture at the Canyon

I made a friend on the canyon
