Snow in May...Are You Serious??

Day 4...Probably the most obsurd day of the vacation. We stayed in Flagstaff, about 2,000 ft higher in elevation that Sedona. Parker and I woke up to the site of snow!! It snowed about 4-6 inches. The temperature read 33 degrees outside!! We were totally not prepared...I had a sweatshirt and Parker a sweatshirt and light jacket which he lended to me (how sweet!). This was Parker's first snow in 15 years and me being the experienced snow driver....I drove down all the mountains to Sedona. There is seriously nothing scarier than driving down mountains in snow but I just went with the flow. As we got down the mountain, it turned into rain but the thermometer still read in the mid to high 40s. Needless to say, our horseback riding trip got pushed back until the weather cleared up, which it did. To kill time, we drove to Jerome, AZ a quaint little mining town about 30 minutes west of Sedona.

Finally around 3pm we went horseback riding... it got up into the upper 50s- 60s and the sun was shining. We were off to Rockin River Ranch, again the middle of no where, to go do an 1 1/2 hour horseback ride. They matched us with horses that they thought would match our personality, I got a horse named Linda who was fast and slightly inpatient. We even got to cross the Verde River on horseback...how neat.
this is what we woke up to
