The Beauty of Hocking Hills

With 1 1/2 weeks left in Ohio and the pathology boards behind him, Mitch and I decided to take a little getaway this past weekend. We went about 40 miles from Columbus to an area called Hocking Hills. It is very peaceful, rural, and scenic. We rented out a cottage on a hill for the weekend. Unfortunately, I messed up the reservation days so someone was staying in our cabin on Friday. Luckily we got put up in their other cabin on the lake and then moved the following day next door to the cabin on the hill. Our stay was the perfect combination of rest, relaxation, and adventure that we were going for. Our cabin keeper was pretty awesome- she let us borrow her kayaks to use on the lake. We also canoed down a river, climbed the caves, made use of the fire ring and hot tub, shopped, played board games, and watched movies. Here are some pics from the trip. What a great weekend!
