Ian's cake smash 6.26.15
I took Ian to a picnic put on by my University department on his birthday. Aunt Lori came too!
it took all day to make this cake for Ian's birthday party of 6.28.15. It's my largest (10") cake to date.
I can't believe our baby is one already! The last 6 months have flown by! With all the company we've had, I haven't gotten a chance to post in a while. Before you know it, it'll be snowing again (omg I can't believe I'm saying that). Ian's 1st birthday started off with a day at the Devonian Gardens where I had an event from my faculty at the U of A. What a perfect day- warm, sunny, and lots of fun. Mitch had to work but we still had Aunt Lori here. Later than evening we all came together for Ian's cake smash which we did at the house. I had made his cake the day prior. This was a practice cake for an even bigger one I made for his birthday party. He was a bit apprehensive about digging into the cake. It took him about 20 minutes to figure it out and even there we were helping him along. A few times, we'd give him a piece of cake and he'd throw it to the ground. Once he started to lick the icing, he got a big more adventurous. He dug is hands in a couple of times. His birthday party was held at Gold Bar Park. It was a very hot day- good thing we got a pavilion with plenty of shade. I think the little guy had a good time with all his cute little friend and some of our friends. Since I am a part of a mom group with summer babies, we have lots of birthday parties to go to. It should be fun. Enjoy the pics from the gardens, cake smash, and his party. I enjoyed taking all of these and FINALLY editing them this week :)
